If you spend some time on the Internet you will know what is Google Pagerank or PR. If not, I’ll explain that quiet right now, although we can not use us … Google itself .
One of the most important tasks of a blogger is to analyze. Any measurable data that is at our fingertips is important to know if we are on the right track to meet our goals.
Before going on I have to tell you one little thing, in early 2016 ,Google stopped updating and offer this information.
It is no longer public, but that does not mean that Don G. does not continue using it. Therefore, we must know what it is to be able to focus our work to improve that “data”.
What is Google PageRank and what is it for?
PR is one of the core values that tell you “how important is your page in Google’s eyes”.
Indeed it is a device invented by the search engine to “measure” the importance or reputation of websites with a concept value between 1 and 10 .
This number is based on the number of links and quality of these pointing domain. That is to say it teaches us if our SEO strategy off Page is well defined.
The higher the PR the more relevant and important our website is in the eyes of the search engine. And therefore it is one of the factors that has to position a web in the SERPs, but that does not guarantee you to be above in google Rank.
How to calculate PageRank
That’s what we would like to know all SEOs.
Before there was a formula prowling around Google that helped you calculate the PR that let us see the search engine.
Now all I can tell you is that for calculating the PR a series of algorithms are used to, like the positioning, only Google knows.
So do not start looking for how to calculate the PR because I do not think its owner will tell you;).
How can I know my Page Rank?
I’m afraid of that today and can not know your Page Rank , as all are reset to zero. You can check it for yourself:
Online
The fastest way to find out what your Page Rank is with the least time investment is through some websites dedicated to giving you the data online. Actually you have to be careful when relying on most of these web tools since a large part are not too accurate.

With the Quake SEO plugin
If you follow me you know that this extension is a must in our browsers. It is the SeoQuake plugin with which besides knowing the Page Rank of your site you will also be able to know many more parameters like the Alexa ranking or the date of creation of the domain besides Who is (the Who is is a page that serves to show you Which is the name of the person who has registered a Web).
Knowing these latest data is particularly useful when studying and analyzing other websites of the competition. You facilitated the address if you are interested in downloading it to your browser:

Questions about page rank
If I PR is higher will I position better?
No. The PR is a measurement parameter created by Google but it has no direct relationship with the positioning Seo, although it is indirect in the sense that it is logical that the more PR has a more important Web will be and therefore is likely to position best. But it is not always the case .
To give you an idea in my former blog blogger4zero.com for several articles we have positioned ahead in the ranking of web pages like Seo on page that tripled the Page Rank.
If I have PR 1 is little? Do I have to worry about my page rank?
You do not have to worry. It’s a pretty good value if your blog is less than a year old. Reaching each new Page Rank unit is quite difficult. For example, very powerful and great pages on online marketing topics like Live Network have or had a PR of 3.
So … What c … serves the PR?
It is a value that measures your reputation and “power”. Let practical cases where are you going to be able to take advantage: your outbound links more PR will have more value and thus can become a great currency (this must be done carefully). Or for example if a company asks you for a sponsored article the more PR you have the more you will be able to charge for the post. (To me for a PR blog I will charge 20 dollars).
How can I increase my PageRank?
The most obvious way to increase PageRank is by getting the most backlinks or incoming links to your website or blog. But slowly, do not try to put links in one after another … Google is much smarter than that.
With the emergence of new algorithms, google gives more importance to the quality of incoming links rather than quantity.
For what it tries to get links with head, it is better 1 good than 10 bad to increase our PR.
Another important point to accumulate Page Rank is with the passage of time (as long as things are done right). But remember, even though you know all these parameters, the most important thing about SEO is always that it seems natural.
Alternatives to Google Page Rank
All right Horla, now that I can not use PR to know if I’m doing it right or wrong. What I can do?
Search for alternatives to PR.
These types of metrics are necessary when doing a study of the competition to try to position ourselves in a certain niche.
I’ll leave you the two that I like the most: MOZ PA / DA and Majestic TF / CF.
Moz. Domain Authority and Page Authority
Surely these two metrics sound to you. Unlike PageRank its scale ranges from 1 (least important) to 100 (most important).
With these values we can get an idea of the odds we have to position ourselves above other websites. Of course, it is not 100% reliable, a page with a DA or a lower PA, can get to position above the competition.
Domain Authority gives us the global force that has a domain. And the Page Authority strength pages individually.
To know these values we just have to download the MOZbar and install it in our browser.
Majestic. Trust Flow and Citation Flow
Each time has more followers these two metrics to know the strength of a domain.
- Flow Trust (trust) . This number gives us Majestic is based on the quality of the links that a website has from trusted sites. If your site is full of junk incoming links, you will notice and your TF number will come down.
- Citation Flow (citations) . It measures the number of links pointing to your website.
The good thing about these two metrics is that you can combine them to know the strength of a domain. It is best to have them compensated. And if you can the TF is greater than the CF.
As you can see, google has left us without knowing its famous PageRank in order to know the strength of a website. However with these other two alternatives, you can continue to study the competition and thus not blindfold when trying to position you.
